Yesterday, I went to Carlsbad Caverns
with my family. I was excited because
I wanted to see the Big Room. It is the
largest single cave in North America!
The cave was amazing. I saw rocks of
all shapes and sizes. I even saw a rope
ladder used by explorers. I touched the
walls and they were wet and cold.

Outside the cave, I smelled food. There
was a cafe and late a delicious burger!
Later, we went to the visitor center and
I learned about the history of the caves.
In the evening, we saw bats come out of
the cave entrance. I heard them first.
They made a squeaking sound. Then we
Saw hundreds of them flying in the air.
They were beautiful!​
