Remembrance Day (in English: Remembrance Day; also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day or Veterans Day) is a day reserved in countries of the British Commonwealth of Nations, to remember the sacrifices of members of the armed forces and civilians in times of war, specific since the First World War.
Finally, November 11 is commemorated, the day on which the World War I clashes ended, according to the signing of the German armistice. It was established by King George V on November 7, 1919, following the proposal of Edward George and Wellesley Tudor Pole, in order to remember the fallen during the First World War.
The Poppy of Remembrance has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day by the poem In Flanders Fields.
