En el Perú, el Instituto Nacional de Cultura es el principal organismo encargado de la preservación, conservación y restauración de bienes culturales muebles e inmuebles, es por ello que su autorización es imprescindible para la realización de investigaciones nacionales y/o extranjeras de nuestro patrimonio.
La finalidad del Instituto Nacional de Cultura es afirmar la identidad nacional mediante la ejecución descentralizada de acciones de protección, conservación, formación, promoción, puesta en valor y difusión del Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación y las manifestaciones culturales para contribuir al desarrollo nacional, con la participación activa de la comunidad y el sector público y privado.
Como ya se ha mencionado, el Patrimonio Cultural Peruano es muy rico y abarca prácticamente todos los campos. Los vestigios arqueológicos e históricos son numerosos en todo el territorio nacional, algunos ejemplos se mencionan a continuación:

A continuación mencionaré algunas ideas de cómo difundir y preservar nuestro patrimonio natural y cultural del Perú
- En cuanto a preservar nuestro patrimonio natural es necesario primero crear brigadas de seguridad estadales que se encarguen de su cuidado y mantenimiento, segundo difundir a través de los medios de comunicación y medios electrónicos sobre la importancia que tiene el patromonio natural para nuestro país y el mundo.
- Para preservar nuestro patrimonio cultural se debe educar a la población, incliso desde el colegio.
