Why do is it important that red blood cells have adaptations to do their job properly? What would happen if red blood cells couldn’t carry oxygen around the body?

Hello,

1- Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to all parts of the body so they can continue to function. The blood also transports carbon dioxide and other waste materials to the lungs, kidneys and digestive system, which are responsible for expelling them abroad. Blood also fights infections, and carries hormones throughout the body.

2- Human beings cannot live without blood. Without it, our organs would not be able to get the oxygen and nutrients they need to survive, we would not be able to warm or cool when we needed to, fight infection, or get rid of our waste products. Without enough blood, we would weaken and die.
