I really don't know if we are a "typical" Australian family, but we usually have beef or lamb with potatoes and vegetables for our evening meal. We sometimes make a salad, too. My father  often cooks some lamb chops or chicken on special occasions, but  barbecues at the weekend always is the best option. In our house, we  never eat kangaroo meat, and our dinner dishes doesn't looks the kind of meal that usually is on the menu in 'typical'  Australian restaurants.
