Brief biography of Miguel de Cervantes. Spanish novelist, poet and playwright. It is believed that he died on September 29, 1547 in Alcalá de Henares and died on April 22, 1616 in Madrid, but he was buried on April 23 and this date is popularly known as his death.

He is considered the greatest figure in Spanish literature and is universally known for having written The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha (usually known as Don Quixote), which many critics have described as the first modern novel and one of the best works of the universal literature, in addition to being the most edited and translated book in history, second only to the Bible.6 It has been given the nickname of "Prince of Wits"
