A- PERSONAL HYGIENE
Do not share objects for personal use that could have been in contact with blood, for example, the toothbrush.
Dirty bloody clothing should be put in a closed plastic bag.
Water and bleach should be used for the general cleaning of the school (one part of bleach per hundred water, or a glass of bleach in a bucket of water). This mixture must be renewed frequently.
Stains of blood and other body fluids on objects, surfaces or earth will be cleaned first with a more concentrated bleach solution (one part bleach per ten of water, which will be left to work for 15 to 30 minutes), and then wash with soapy water.
The people in charge of cleaning will have to protect any type of open wound they have with dressings, bandages and rubber gloves that are not pierced.
Another way to disinfect blood-stained objects is to boil them in water for thirty minutes.
B- DISINFECTION OF BLEEDING WOUNDS
Disinfection of bleeding wounds is the same for anyone. It is important to always act in the same way, taking the same precautions in all cases:
The person caring for the wounded person must previously wash their hands with soap and water, and use disposable gloves. If you do not have gloves you can use a nylon or protective bag. In turn, any type of open wound will have to be protected with dressings or bandages.
Clean the wound with plenty of soap and water.
Complete the cleaning by applying hydrogen peroxide or another liquid disinfectant to the wound.
Disinfect blood stained objects and store them in closed bags.
Clean the blood stained areas (clothes, dirt, tables, sinks, etc.) with bleach, in a solution of 1 part bleach concentrated in 10 parts with water. Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes, absorb with disposable paper and discard.
Finally, the person who made the cure must discard the used gloves and wash their hands again with soap and water.
In order to carry out the cure properly, the school kit must be in optimal conditions of use and with the appropriate material.
