"The far north: The origin of the flowering desert".
During Spanish rule, there was beautiful, young woman who lived in a small village near the limari river: All the young men were in love with the lovely añañuca, but none of them (a)_____ to win her love. One day, a handsome, young miner came through town, (b)_______ gold. When he saw añañuca, he fell in love whit her too, and this time she loved him back. today, you can still see the añañuca flowers (l)______ in the area that is now known as the Atacama Desert, creating spectaculat fields of wildflowers. This amazing phenomenon is known as desierto florido or desert in bloom.
