When John Lennon was sixteen years old, he started a rock band called The Beatles, these are the members of the band: Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe, Pete, Best.
In the summer of 1960, The Beatle moved to Germany to play concerts for three months.
George Harrison was too young to be living in Germany without his parents. So The Beatles had to go home to Liverpool.
Stuart Sutcliffe decided to stay in Germany and leave the band, when The Beatles go home they told Pete Best to leave the band, Harrison and Starr where the four members of The Beatles that become famous.
The Beatles kept playing concerts in Liverpool and in Germany for two years. They weren’t professionals but the audience liked The Beatles anyway.
They recorded their first album in 1962. They walked for 60 hours and recorded all the song in one day. Six months after 250.000 people had bought it.
The Beatles become famous for their concerts. The fans waited for The Beatles wherever they went and this was called ‘’Beatlemania’’.
When they went to USA for the first time to play on the Ed Sullivan, 73.000.000 watched the show.
For the next two years, The Beatles recorded albums, made a movie and played a lot of concerts around the world. The Beatles decided to play their last concert in August 1966. After that, they only recorded albums.
In 1968 they travelled to India and started to add Indian musical sounds to their songs.
While they were recording in 1969, The Beatles were fighting so much that George Harrison left for 5 days. When he come back, the band finished their last album. In August 1969, John Lennon left the band and The Beatles were finished.
In 1980, John Lennon was walking in New York City when a crazy fan shot and killed him. The three other Beatles wrote and played a new song for Lennon after he died.
In 2001, George Harrison died of lung cancer when he was 58 years old. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr played a concerts for him after he died.
