Presente simple
Bob lives in a small flat in London. In the mornings, he wakes up and has a shower. Then he makes breakfast. He usually has a typical English breakfast with eggs and bacon. After that, he goes to work.
He works in an office in the center of London. He sits in front of the computer all day and writes emails. He doesn’t like his job very much, but he likes earning money. At 12 o’clock he goes to lunch and has a sandwich. After lunch, he comes back to work and writes more emails. At 5 o’clock he leaves work.
He sometimes sees his girlfriend in the evenings. She lives on the opposite side of London, so he takes the Underground.
On weekends, he doesn’t have to work. He usually goes out for a few beers with his friends on Friday night. On Saturday he goes shopping. On Sunday he goes to his grandmother’s house for tea.
On Monday he gets up early and goes back to work.
Presente continuo
The school's principal is talking to the teachers. His secretary is sending some mails to the students' parents. The parents are working at the time. And the principal needs a meeting to talk with them about their children. The children are studying nine asignatures, and they are wanting to add one more. The meeting is planed for the next week.
Pasado simple
One Saturday, Sarah woke up early. She had breakfast with her family, she had a quick shower, and left home to work.
On her way to the office, a handsome man asked her if she knew where the closest bank was. She told him where it was. The man asked her if she could go with him to the bank and to have a cup of coffee afterwards. She said yes.
Sarah and the man had coffee. After that, they went to the cinema and then to a disco. They danced for 3 hours. Sarah didn’t ask the man’s name, she didn’t add him on Facebook or Whatsapp. At midnight, the man said he had to go to the bathroom, but he didn’t come back.
Sarah fell in love with the man; she wanted the man to come back. She waited for him for 5 years, but he didn’t come back. Sarah had lost all hope about love. She prayed to God frequently.
One day, Sarah was waiting in line in the bank when a man came up to her and asked her what time it was. His voice sounded familiar, it was the same man; his name was Joseph.
They married 8 months later and had 2 beautiful daughters.
Pasado Continuo
Saturday is was going to be my mum's birthday. My father was wondering if he should be going. He wasn't going to the party. He was working at that time. On the other hand, my mum's sister and her daughter were coming all the way from Senegal to make it to that party. I was obviously going as well. I mean, it wasn't going to be the party of the year, but it was still going to be an important event.
Futuro
Susie’s going to get married next summer. She’s going to have the ceremony in the church in her mother’s town.
After the wedding, she and her husband are going to have dinner with all their friends and family, and the next day they’re going to leave on their honeymoon.
They’re going to Brazil. They’re going to spend 5 days in Rio de Janeiro, and 4 days in Sao Paolo.
They’ve never been to Brazil before, so they’re looking forward to the trip.
After they get home, they’re going to start looking for a house to buy.
Susie has a lot of plans for married life, too. She wants kids: they’re going to have two kids. And she’s going to send them to the best private schools.
They’re going to be very happy together.
