All human beings have the basic need to be recognized by other people for taking any type of positive action that makes us deserving of such recognition. The satisfaction of this need is vital for the strengthening of our self-references, according to Maslow's pyramid theory of needs; we need to satisfy the basic needs categorized in a hierarchical way to achieve progress in the satisfaction of other needs until we reach our self-realization, which means that we would have managed to overcome other needs such as physiological, security needs, and social needs (affiliation ), the needs of esteem and self-realization.
