David Livingstone Scotland 19 March 1813 Chitambo, North Rodesia 1873 1 May 1873) was a doctor, and a British missionary, one of the greatest figures in the history of exploration. Through astronomical observations, it established correct situations in the African cartography and carried out reports of botanical, geology and zoology. He also made a distinction for his struggle against slavery. For all of this, in Victorian Britain was considered a national hero.
