This Marco Polo. He was an explorer. He was from Venice - Italy. His father and uncle were also travellers- They all arrived in China when Marco Polo was 21 years old.

Marco was very popular with the emperor of China so he was the governor of Yangchow for three years. Many people were jealous of the Polos because they were very rich and Marco Polo, his father and unlce were worried. They wanted to return home but the emperor was unhappy.
