Tienen el significado de algo o alguno/a/os/as en oraciones afirmativas, de algo o algún/una/unos/unas en interrogativas y de nada o ningún/una/unos/unas en las negativas. Some se utiliza en oraciones afirmativas y any en oraciones interrogativas y negativas.

Cuando con some/any nos referimos a algo incontable, se trata como singular (there was/wasn't). Si es contable (y hay más de 1), es plural (there were/weren't).
