Para el conteo de sílabas de un verso debemos tener en cuenta unas reglas que os detallamos a continuación.

La sinalefa

Consiste en computar como una sola sílaba la última de una palabra que termine en vocal, junto a la primera de la siguiente palabra si comienza por vocal o “h”.

– Ejemplos:

las mil for-mas de no_ha-cer-lo   (con la sinalefa dan 8 sílabas)

y_el cie-lo se_a-brió   (la “y” puede ligarse a otra vocal. Las dos sinalefas dejan 5 sílabas)

so-bre_el si-li-cio se-mi-con-duc-tor  (la sinalefa provoca 10 sílabas)

has-ta_el a-bis-mo  (la sinalefa deja un verso de 5 sílabas)

El acento final

Si la última palabra es aguda, el verso debe tener una sílaba menos.

Si la última palabra es esdrújula, el verso debe tener una sílaba más.

Si la última palabra del verso es llana, se cuentan las sílabas normalmente.
