Life: Son of Barack Obama, Kenyan economist and Ann Dunhann, American anthropologist. Her parents met at the University of Manoa (Hawaii), where her father was a foreign student.
When she was two years old her parents divorced, her father returned to Kenya and her mother remarried and they moved in 1967 to Jakarta (Burma), the city of origin of her new husband.
In Jakarta he attends school until the age of ten. In 1971, she returned to Hawaii with her maternal grandparents, finishing High School in 1979.
His father died in 1982 in a car accident and his mother in 1995 from ovarian cancer.
He enrolled in Political Science at Columbia University (New York), specializing in International Relations. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts in 1983.
After working for four years in New York, at the Business National Corporation and New York Public Interest Research Group, he moved to Chicago, where he worked, in the southern part of the city, as Director of a Catholic religious community, highlighting for being a great organizer and achieving a notable improvement in the organization called DCP.
In 1988 he traveled to Europe and Kenya where he visited relatives from his father, whom he did not know.
At the end of 1988 he enrolled in Law at Harvard University, obtaining his doctorate in 1991, in Jurisprudence with the distinction Magna cum Laude.
Being the first black student to win the presidency of Harvard Law magazine, he gave him some popularity and for this reason he was offered a research scholarship at the University of Chicago in order to recruit him and, at the same time, A publisher offers to write a book on racial issues at Harvard.
