El crecimiento económico de la región bonaerense durante el siglo XVIII fue de gran magnitud y estuvo acompañado por un crecimiento de la población, tanto urbana como rural, lo cual implicó al mismo tiempo tanto crecimiento vegetativo como por migraciones. En este artículo se observa en primer lugar la magnitud de este crecimiento demográfico a lo largo del siglo XVIII. A partir de esta comprobación se analiza y describe la estructura económica de la población, con base en la ocupación de los habitantes en los tres recuentos de población disponibles (1744, 1778 y 1810) y el relevamiento de las fuentes primarias. Finalmente, se observa cómo el crecimiento de la población impactó sobre la ocupación del espacio urbano.

Abstract
The economic growth of the region of Buenos Aires during the XVIII century was of a great magnitude and was accompanied by a population growth, both urban as well as rural, which implied at the same time the vegetative growth and due to migrations. In this article it is first observed the magnitude of this demographic growth throughout the XVIII century. From that comparison the economic structure of the population is analyzed and described, based on the occupation of the inhabitants of the three available counts (1744, 1778 and 1810) and the re-raising of the primary sources. Finally, it is observed how the population growth had an impact on the occupation of the urban space.
