Ten presente que el was y el wasn't (que significa was not) se usa sólo con: She, he, it, I. Y el were y weren't (were not) se usa con: you, they, we.

  Este verbo es el pasado del verbo ser (verb to be) es decir, cuando dices "she was 22, she is 23 now" quieres decir que "ella tenía" 22 y ahora "tiene (en presente porque está el is)" 23.
