How are homologous chromosomes different from chromatids?

- The chromosome is the original strand, the root strand; while sister chromatids are the result of the original chromatin plus the copy chromatin strand

- Homologous chromosomes provide information for the same, however, not all carry the same information; the sister chromatids are identical.
