Tom Sawyer's Adventures is the story of a few months in the life of this boy who lives in a small town in the southwestern United States on the banks of the Mississippi.

Raised by his aunt Polly, who loves him from the heart, but who subjects him to a discipline that makes him absurd and unpleasant.

Tom views the world in a very different way than the adults with whom he has to live. Precisely because this distancing exists, it entertains us with its funny and noble reactions.

More wild and rebellious against that universe of older people is his unforgettable friend Huckleberry Finn, who is a boy who wanders the streets, who was abandoned by his parents and is questioned by the prejudiced gaze of adults; but, nevertheless, admired by the other children who see in him the very image of freedom.

Together they will live humorous and dramatic adventures from which they can be more successful than any adult could have done.

In the end - if only in appearance - both Tom and Huck will end up being led into that context of people who will grow up and stop being children.

With Tom Sawyer's Adventures, Mark Twain begins to relive his childhood and adolescence by mixing it with fiction
