Italy have two types of boundaries:
The physical boundaries that are the mountain range called the Alps is the northern border of Italy.The majority of Italy is bordered by water. These bodies of water include the Adriatic Sea, the Ligurian Sea, the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Ionian Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea.

And the cultural boundaries
Europe was set up so that its different languages were divided. Due to the fact that Italy is located in Europe, some of its borders are based on where the Italian language is located.
