Jonathan Harker describes the landscapes during his journey from Munich to Hungary. The owner of the inn where she spends the night gives her a crucifix when she learns where she is going and especially, by expressing the superstition that on the night she travels, it is the night when all evil spirits are released. The journey with the stageism is only until a certain way, since at one point, it is picked up by the carriage of Count Dracula. Jonathan describes the enormous physical strength of the driver, the ease of controlling the wolves and the journey at night to reach the Count's castle.
