El texto narra un experimento hecho a diferentes madres en el que se vestia a un bebé con ropa rosada, las madres pensando que eran niñas le decían cosas como "que linda era" y cuando lloraba intentaban gentilemente calmarla en seguida, en cambio cuando al mismo niño lo vestían de azul y las madres pensaban que era un niño la actitud de ellas cambiaba y decían cosas como "que niño tan grande y fuerte" a pesar de que era el mismo bebé y cuando lloraba lo animaban y decían "que pulmones tan fuertes, escucha ese grito"
