Plant Explosion

Louisiana newspapers reported the fatality during a news conference yesterday night.

One person died and 73 others were injured in an explosion that occurred at approximately 8:37 a.m. at an oil plant. The

Louisiana Governor confirmed the fatality during a news conference. He promised to investigate the incidents. The

Louisiana State Police said that soon after the explosion, they activated their emergency alert systems. The company

safety manager said that they were more worried about the safety and well-being of the employees and the local

community than about the material lost in the incident. The emergency staff closed valves soon after the accident. The

unit was isolated. They wanted to keep the people safe. They considered that it was very important the well-being of

people in and around the area. The local authorities closed the local routes to the plant. “We are in the process of

accounting for all personnel", they said. The people in charge of the security of the plan believed that this was the worst

tragedy in the area. They didn’t remember any other incidents as problematic as this in the last ten years.​
