This year I’m finishing my High School studies and I’m looking forward to getting a job. I know that, whatever job I get now, it won’t be the perfect calling but just a way to get some money and make new friends. Nevertheless, there are some characteristics that would be good if I want to feel comfortable about this new activity in my life.
First of all, it would be great if it was near my College. I was accepted at Boston College and I wouldn’t like to spend a lot of time travelling from one place to the other. I’ll be moving in to a dorm there next year and I’m hoping to find some job opportunities waiting for me in the vicinity.
I would also like to work in the morning shift so I can attend classes in the afternoon and study in the evening. I have a very nocturnal mind but my body is usually more energetic in the earlier hours of the day, so I figured it would be better to work while I feel active and to study when I am more awake.
I am very fond of meeting new people, so I would love it if my new job involved some sort of public attendance, such as a coffee house or any kind of store. I am really fond of books, so work a bookshop would be nice, but I wouldn’t mind working in any other store where College students come often. That way, I can have interesting talks and discuss the matters of College’s everyday life.

Este año estoy terminando mis estudios de secundaria y tengo muchas ganas de conseguir un trabajo. Sé que, sea cual sea el trabajo que obtenga ahora, no será la vocación perfecta, sino solo una forma de obtener algo de dinero y hacer nuevos amigos. Sin embargo, hay algunas características que serían buenas si quisiera sentirme cómodo con esta nueva actividad en mi vida.
En primer lugar, sería genial si estuviera cerca de mi universidad. Fui aceptado en el Boston College y no me gustaría pasar mucho tiempo viajando de un lugar a otro. Me mudaré a un dormitorio allí el próximo año y espero encontrar algunas oportunidades de trabajo esperándome en los alrededores.
También me gustaría trabajar en el turno de la mañana para poder asistir a clases por la tarde y estudiar por la noche. Tengo una mente muy nocturna, pero mi cuerpo suele tener más energía en las primeras horas del día, así que pensé que sería mejor trabajar mientras me siento activo y estudiar cuando estoy más despierto.
Me gusta mucho conocer gente nueva, por lo que me encantaría que mi nuevo trabajo involucrara algún tipo de asistencia pública, como una cafetería o cualquier tipo de tienda. Me gustan mucho los libros, por lo que trabajar en una librería sería bueno, pero no me importaría trabajar en ninguna otra tienda donde los estudiantes universitarios vengan a menudo. De esa manera, puedo tener charlas interesantes y discutir los asuntos de la vida cotidiana de la universidad.
