Coca-Cola
In 1885 he added cola nuts to a new drink he had created, this time without alcohol but with sugar syrup. [ 5 ] The final formula was ready on May 8, 1886.
Coca-Cola's first refreshing drink recipe contained coca leaf extracts (hence its name Coca-Cola). Coca Cola at one time, had 9 milligrams of cocaine per glass, but in 1903 it was eliminated. Pharmacist John S. Pemberton developed a refreshing drink to try to stop his morphine addiction. He managed to leave the morphine but fell into the addiction of this drink made from coca leaf extracts. When the addictive potential of the substance was discovered, the coca content was replaced by caffeine, seeking the same effect.
