However, to carry out this research it is necessary to analyze the term "region" beyond the geographical conception of it, without ignoring that it is a factor that various authors take into account when defining the concept.
For Joseph Love, the constant region of a geographical size and a defined location, but emphasizes that it must be related to the integral form with a "greater unity" (it could be the Nation State or the entire American continent) once with other entities that are part of it. The region is defined, generates loyalties from its members, which, in turn, tend to be subordinate to loyalty to the "greater unity" (Love, cited by Clemente, 2010).
