I recently made it my purpose to get up every day at 5:00 a.m. for a month. We have all read these articles in which people say that waking up early is the best decision they have made in life, and I needed to prove it for myself. Special note: I've always been an early riser, I usually wake up fast and feel refreshed and rested.

I think about the number of times you check your devices during the workday. Doing this is a great distraction. And even if you try to put your cell phone and your mail away while you work (some people do), the truth is that it is a big challenge when you have urgent responsibilities. Maybe I need to be on the phone in case your children get sick at school, or maybe you need to check your mail or Slack to answer important messages.
