Part 1: Gerund as subject

1. Playing baseball with my friends is very funny

Part 2: Gerund as direct object

Part 3: Gerund after prepositions

Part 4: How to use gerunds in a sentence

You can use gerunds to make sentences in present continuous or past continuous but you can use those verbs as subject in a sentence when you talk about an action. Besides you can use gerunds as direct object when you use it after an infinitive verb. You can use gerunds after prepositions when and action depends on another action.

I was talking to my mom yesterday, she told me she likes shopping with her friends, so I told her I will give her some money on Mother's day. I love making happy my family.
