ANIMALS
The Kingdom of Animals is made up of more than one million different species. Animals are characterized because they can move, they are heterotrophic (they feed on plants or other animals), have sensitivity and respond very quickly to changes in their environment.
The animals differ from each other according to their type of diet and thus can be carnivores, bovines or omnivores, according to their embryonic development and thus can be oviparous or viviparous, depending on the environment in which they live can be aquatic or terrestrial and according to their skeleton.
Animals are classified into two large groups: Vertebrate animals and Invertebrate animals, depending on whether they have an internal skeleton or not.
Invertebrate animals make up the largest group of animals. The Invertebrates are divided into many smaller groups. The most important are the Porifera, Coelentereos, Worms, Arthropods, Molluscs and Echinoderms.
Vertebrate animals are divided into five groups depending on the skin covering, the type of limbs and how to reproduce. The groups are: Amphibians, Reptiles, Fishes, Birds and Mammals.
