Hola aqui va la respuesta:

 {x}^{2} = 2x \times (x - 1)(x + 2)

 {x}^{2} = 2x \times ( {x}^{2} + 2x - x - 2)

 {x}^{2} = 2x \times ( {x}^{2}  + x - 2)

 {x}^{2} = 2 {x}^{3} + 2 {x}^{2} - 4x

 {x}^{2} - 2 {x}^{3} - 2 {x}^{2} + 4x = 0

 - 2 {x}^{3}  -  {x}^{2} + 4x = 0

 - x (2 {x}^{2}) - x \times x - x \times 4 = 0

 - x(2 {x}^{2} + x) - x \times 4 = 0

 - x(2 {x}^{2} + x - 4) = 0

 - x \times  - 1 = 0

1x = 0

x = 0

2 {x}^{2} + x  - 4 = 0

 \frac{ - b \: ± \:  \sqrt{ {b }^{2} - 4 \times a \times c} }{2 \times a}

 \frac{ - 1  \: ± \:  \sqrt{1 - 4 \times 2 \times ( - 4)} }{4}

 \frac{ - 1 \: ± \:  \sqrt{33} }{4}

X1 =  \frac{ - 1 +  \sqrt{33} }{4}

X2 =  \frac{ - 1  -  \sqrt{ 33} }{4}

 {x}^{2}  = 2x(x  - 1)(x + 2) \\  \frac{ {x}^{2} }{2x}  = (x - 1)(x  + 2) \\  \frac{x}{2}  =  {x}^{2}  + 2x - x - 2 \\  \frac{x}{2}  =  {x}^{2}  + x - 2 \\ x = 2( {x}^{2}  + x - 2) \\ x = 2 {x}^{2}  + 2x - 4 \\ 2 {x}^{2}  + 2x - 4 - x = 0 \\ 2 {x}^{2}  + x - 4 = 0

Aquí usamos la fórmula general para hallar las dos soluciones:
 \boxed{ \frac{ - b \pm \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  - 4 \times a \times c} }{2 \times a} }
Evaluando obtenemos que:

x1 = 1,18
x2 = -1,68
