RESUMEN
El objetivo general de la investigación es analizar
el desarrollo de la mujer istmeña en la vida económica, política y social del municipio de Juchitán de Zaragoza,
Oaxaca, como un detonante de desarrollo. La investigación se auxilió del enfoque cualitativo e histórico para
conocer la incursión de la mujer en la sociedad Zapoteca, además del método deductivo para el análisis de la
misma a través del tiempo en comparación con el desarrollo de la misma a nivel nacional, considerando que el
estado de Oaxaca es uno de los más grandes de la república en el cual existe la multiculturalidad, además de
ser un estado rico en flora y fauna, cabe mencionar que el Istmo es una región conocida por poseer el corredor
eólico en la Ventosa, el cual se encuentra en funcionamiento y expansión, sin embargo el eje central de esta
investigación es la mujer debido a las características específicas que tiene la cultura en el Istmo de
Tehuantepec, además de existir una población femenina mayoritaria en el estado de Oaxaca y el municipio ;
cabe destacar que la función de la mujer en el Istmo siempre ha sido de reconocimiento y poder, llegando a
impactar no sólo como ama de casa, sino como comerciante, política y principal conductor de la economía a
través del comercio.

ABSTRACT
The general objective of the research is to analyze the development of Istmeña women in the economic, political
and social life of the municipality of Juchitán de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, as a development detonator. The research
was aided by the qualitative and historical approach to know the incursion of women in the Zapotec society, in
addition to the deductive method for the analysis of women through the time comparing the incursion of her with

recognition and power, reaching not only as a housewife, but as a merchant, policy and main driver of the
economy through trade.
