Recuerda que para hallar el valor de una función f(x) para x = a, basta sustituir x por a. Por ejemplo, si f(x) = 3x^2 – 6x, f(-1) = 3·(-1)^2 – 6·(-1) = 3+6 = 9.

Por tanto si

f(x) = 3x^2 – 6x, g(x) = 6 - 2x

entonces

f(-1) – g(-3) = 3·(-1)^2 – 6·(-1) –( 6 – 2·(-3)) = 3 + 6 –(6 + 6) = -3

f(x) = x + 7, g(x) = 2x – 1

g(f(8)) = g(8 + 7) = g(15) = 2·15 – 1 = 29
