In our intention to know why the equinoctial tides are the most important of the year, we have just reviewed the concepts of live tides and dead tides, in addition to the solstices and the equinoxes. With all this, we conclude on the one hand that the tide reaches especially high and low values when the Earth, the Moon and the Sun are aligned (in zenital view), in what we call tides alive. On the other hand, we see that when the deformation ellipse of the Moon, in lateral view, is combined with the deformation ellipse of the Sun in the times close to the equinoxes, the tides are equally especially high. And, finally, the tides reach their maximum values of the year when both effects are combined, that is, live tides (full or new moon) in the times close to the equinoxes, in what could be called equinoctial tides.
