(x + 1) \times (x -3)- 3 {x}^{2} + x =0
 {x}^{2}  + x - 3x - 3 - 3 {x}^{2}  + x = 0
 {2x}^{2}   +  x   -   3 = 0
a = 2
b = 1
c = -3
 x1 \: \: x2 = \frac{ - b +  -  \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - 4ac } }{2a}
 x1= \frac{ -( 1) +  \sqrt{ {(  1)}^{2} - 4(  2)(  - 3) } }{2(2)}
x2= \frac{ -(1)  -   \sqrt{ {( 1)}^{2} - 4( 2)(  - 3) } }{2(2)}
 x1= \frac{ -1 +  \sqrt{ { 1 + 24 }} }{4}
 x1= \frac{ -1 +  \sqrt{ { 25}} }{4}
 x1= \frac{ -1 +  5}{4}
 x1= \frac{ 4}{4}  = 1
x2= \frac{ -1 -   \sqrt{ {1  +  24 } }}{4}
x2= \frac{ -1 -   \sqrt{ {25 } }}{4}
x2= \frac{ -1 -  5 }{4}
x2= \frac{ -6}{4} =  \frac{ - 3}{2}
