Alice Melliat was founder of the Federation of Women's Societies of France and also organizer of the International Women's Sports Federation. Not content with the little attention of the Games of the 28, decided to realize, in 1930 and 1934, the World-wide Feminine Games in Prague and London respectively.
The growth of women's participation in 1976 with 20% of athletes, in 1988 by 25%, and 35% in the Olympic Games in Atlanta was normalizing their presence.
