1. READING COMPREHENSION

Bill Gates is the great leader of Microsoft Company. He is very generous, he helps poor and ill people. Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955 in the USA. At elementary school, he was a very good student, especially at Science and Math. Then, his parents sent him to Lakeside School because he was very intelligent. In this school, he started learning about computers. Bill Gates said, "When I was thirteen, my school (Lakeside School) installed a computer. After that, my friends and I spent most of our free time doing interesting things with the computer."

After school, Bill Gates went to Harvard University. On January 1, 1994 Bill Gates and Melinda French got married. In Harvard, he met Paul Allen. They became close friends. Nota @mayjuchani: No pudé hacer el ejercicio 2 ya que hay que escuchar un audio sobre Bill Gates. Ahí mismo dice.

3. WRITE ABOUT

- Bill Gate's daughter, Jennifer, went to a beach in the USA last July. She writes to a friend telling her about:

  • The place and the weather.
  • The people she met there. (Use descriptive adjectives.)
  • Her activities during the holidays.
  • Her plans for her next holidays.

Write about 60 words.

Hey Mary

I just arrived home after being on holiday. I went to Manele Bay, Hawaii and I really enjoyed the weather, it was sunny all day long and during night time there was a cool fragrance in the air that smelt like the Hawaiian sea. There's a resort next to the beach and a wonderful marine preserve.

I met some really kind people at the bay, everyone greeted us as if we were from Hawaii. I did some snorkelling with my parents. For my next holiday I want to go to Disneyland.

4. MAKE A DIALOGUE

Jennifer phones her friend and invites her to her house. In the dialogue include:

  • Description of the house.
  • Means of transport her friend can take.
  • Directions to get to her house.

Write at least 6 exchanges.

Jennifer: Hey Sarah!

Sarah: Hi Jennifer! How are you?

Jennifer: I'm ok and you?

Sarah: Fine. Where you going to ask me something?

Jennifer: Yes. Would you like to come to my house?

Sarah: Hmm. What is your house like?

Jennifer: It's painted green on the outside, has two floors and has a beautiful garden. We can stay in my bedroom if you want or play in the garden because my parents are using the living room.

Sarah: I want to go but I don't know how to get there. Any ideas?

Jennifer: You could take an Uber or a taxi. I think it's easier if you take an Uber.

Sarah: Ok. Now what is your address?

Jennifer: District 1239 Union Street. I live 1 km from the nearest Walmart.

Sarah: See you there!

Jennifer: Ok. See you!

5. CROSS WHAT OUT IS WRONG

Bill Gate's daughter Phoebe is eleven years old. Now she is at a party with some friends like talking to her. She is very (interesting) and all her friends like talking to her.  They (always) invite her to their parties. (Why?) Because they have a good time with her.

Today, she (is wearing) a beautiful white dress and red shoes. She (was) the first person to arrive at the party. She went (by) foot because she lives next to her friend's house. She (said) "Hello" to her friendss. (Then) she talked to them and ate (a lot of) crisps. Now all the children are in the garden. In some minutes they (are going to) play some games.

*Nota @mayjuchani: En el ejercicio 5 pidieron que tachara las palabras inadecaudas. Pero como no sabía como tacharlas, por eso dejé en parentesis las palabras adecuadas.

6. UNSCRAMBLE THE FOLLOWING

1. At the party/there/children/how many/were/?

1. How many children were there at the party?

Nota @mayjuchani: Ojala que te haya ayudado :)
