El Movimiento Revolucionario Túpac Amaru (MRTA) fue una organización terrorista peruana de corte marxista-leninista, guevarista y antiimperialista fundada en 1982 e inspirada en las guerrillas izquierdistas de otros países de la región. Inició su accionar en julio de 1984, y fue parte de la época del terrorismo en el Perú (1980-2000). En su informe final, la Comisión de la Verdad y de la Reconciliación concluyó que el MRTA fue responsable del 1,5 % de las víctimas mortales del conflicto. Considerada como una organización de tipo terrorista por el estado Peruano, otros organismos internacionales no han llegado a tal conclusión (debido a su nulo actuar desde 1997)

The Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA) was a Peruvian terrorist organization of Marxist-Leninist, Guevarist and anti-imperialist origin founded in 1982 and inspired by the leftist guerrillas of other countries in the region. He began his actions in July 1984, and was part of the era of terrorism in Peru (1980-2000). In its final report, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission concluded that the MRTA was responsible for 1.5% of the mortal victims of the conflict, considered as a terrorist organization by the Peruvian state, other international organizations have not reached such a conclusion (due to its null act since 1997)
