How did the Protestant Reformation spread to English?
Respuestas
It started with the spread of Martin Luther's first written essays throughout the whole British Island. When Henry VIII got to the throne, he declared some laws called The Acts Of Supremacy, meaning that he was the one who controlled not only the English government but the English Church.
When Edward VI became king, the first reforms of the Church started to work. One of them was the Book Of Common Prayer, written by the Archbishop Of Canterbury (Thomas Cranmer). After Edward died, Mary I became queen and got rid of the reforms Edward had made during his reign.
Mary I died at an age of 42 years, so her living half-sister Elizabeth I became the Queen. She put the Acts of Supremacy to work again, which obligated every church in England to use the Book Of Common Prayer in english.
